Savard Wins It

Sloppy game. Storybook ending.

Marc Savard wins game one of the Bruins-Flyers Eastern Conference Semi-Final at TD Garden in Boston at 13:52 of the first overtime period.

It had been an up and down game for the B’s that saw them giving up a two goal lead in the third to allow Philly to force overtime. They came out with some serious authority in the OT, though, putting fantastic pressure on the Flyers defense and peppering Brian Boucher with shots. Finally, after another great series of cycling in the Flyers zone by the Krejci-Lucic-Satan line and a timely pinch by Dennis Wideman down the right boards, Savard jumps on the ice during an on-the-fly change and blasts a loose, bouncing puck right over Boucher’s left shoulder for the game winner.

Deafening roar, crowd goes ape, Savard goes nuts, Bruins swarm their newly returned teammate for a wild on-ice celebration.

Love that dirty water.
