Tukka’s Task

by

Word from the Garden is that Tukka Rask was the first goalie onto the ice in pre-game warm-ups, strongly suggesting he will get the start tonight for the Bruins as they play yet another home game to start the season, this time against the New York Islanders.

Let’s hope the shake-up helps, as does the grueling practices Julien has put the team through since their lackluster effort against Anaheim on Thursday. Chances are they’ll come out with some bite in them.

Johnny Boychuck is not in the line-up, however. I would have had little problem with him replacing Andrew Ference or Dennis Wideman in the line-up for tonight. Or throwing Matt Hunwick up at left wing again and sitting one of the many forwards who put in a lackluster effort against the Ducks.

Best bring it tonight, boys, if ya knows whats good fer ya.

Update: 8:48 pm: Bruins currently losing to the Islanders 3-0 and looking like it’s their first day on skates. The only minor excitement being Andrew Ference’s forced attempt to generate some emotion when he grabbed Sean Bergenheim gloves off and took a roughing.

Update: Bruins come back in the third, tie it 3-3 then win in the shoot-out on a gorgeous move by Marc Savard and quality saves from Rask.

Wowsers.
